Genomopedia The encyclopedia of Phase-Gated Equilibrium
Heterodox framework

Genomopedia presents Phase-Gated Equilibrium, a framework that departs from mainstream evolutionary biology. If you cite it in academic work, expect that work to be rejected. We publish it because we consider it more coherent and more accurate than the conventional account. About this site

Main Page

Genomopedia is an encyclopedia of biology written from the standpoint of Phase-Gated Equilibrium (PGE), a heterodox framework in which biological elaboration is understood as the phase-gated release of information carried from the outset, in contrast to bottom-up gradual accumulation.

The central claim is that biology is consistent with itself. Where differentiation can be directly observed, it proceeds by one mechanism: a single fertilised cell develops into a body by releasing a stored program in a fixed sequence, with each phase opened by a signal while mutation acting as an obstacle, not the driver. This is how ontogeny works, and no one attributes it to natural selection.

The conventional account holds that across timescales too long for direct observation, differentiation operates by an entirely different mechanism with mutation as its driver. Phase-Gated Equilibrium rejects this exception. It proposes that the same architecture operates at both timescales: information is carried in advance and gated by signals. Ontogeny is what this process looks like when it unfolds quickly enough to be observed; macro-evolution is the same process unfolding across timescales too long to be watched directly.
